SPECIAL Q & A for Tonight's Event 3/6/20 @ LIMELIGHT

Q: Is the event still happening with Novel coronavirus, COVID-19 outbreak?

A: YES! The Video Wizard has cast a protection spell for the show tonight. It activates by washing your hands and not touching anything! But in all seriousness, there will be no tape swap or exchanging of tapes this month, so there is less chance of germs spreading. If you are sick in general, either stay home or wear a mask to not spread it to others. Here is some info about the virus

Q: When does the event start and where is it?

A: The movie will start at 9pm at the PFC's Limelight Cinema! We are not at the main Pickford building this month. Address is: 1416 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225 It’s $3 and tickets can be purchased in person or online.

Q: Is this a permanent change? Did you idiots get kicked out of the Pickford already?!

A: Surprisingly no. Tonight's change is a schedule conflict and because we wanted to try a new format. (But mostly because of our rival The Network!) We will return the 1st Friday of the month to the main Pickford location in April! And we ain't foolin'

Q: Can I bring a Tape to watch for this event?

A: No need! Unlike our other events this is a special film showcase. We will be watching a movie hunted by Rewind the Robot and The Video Wizard. We will be watching the movie in full, no interruptions!

Q: What is the movie?

A: That's part of the fun! What we can share is it was never released in America, and this will very likely be the first time it’s ever been shown on a theater screen. Thanks to Ronnie of Video Patron for this amazing hunt! Don’t miss out!

Q: Is this the new format going forward

A: Nope! But because the Video Hunter Society is still in its infancy we'd love your thoughts on things you like, what can be improved, and even what format you enjoy best! Send us a comment here or to our other socials

Q: How does the V.H.S. Official Club Card work?

A: Attend one of our events to become an official member of the Video Hunter Society. Each month we will tell you what rewards your card is good for around town. Tonight's prize is a good one, so be sure to attend to get some fun freebies!

Q: My question wasn’t answered!

A: Relax. This is still a brand new event and growing pains are part of the experience! Please share and spread the word if you’d like to see more events like this in the future.  Q & A for Pickford Events

Q: When does the event start?
A: The movie will start at 9pm at the Pickford Film Center! A new event is scheduled every first Friday of the month after Art Walk! It’s $3 and tickets can be purchased in person or online.

https://www.pickfordfilmcenter.org/vhs-video-hunter-society

An optional Tape Swap will be held in the lobby 6pm until showtime (further details below).

Q: What movie will we watch?
A: The VHS will be a mystery tape based off what YOU, the audience, bring!

Bring any type of VHS tape you’d like (No Bluray/DVD) and a special lottery will determine which one we watch!

Q: If my tape is chosen will I get it back?
A: Yes! Although V.H.S. nor the PFC is responsible if something happens to your tape (it’s old technology, things happen).

Q: Do I have to bring a VHS to participate?
A: Nope! Just bring yourself and enjoy the show!

Q: What if the movie that’s selected sucks?
A: Then let it be known! Part of the fun is heckling bad films.

If the movie is a real stinker let it be known by shouting “EJECT!”

If we feel the video is no longer fun, the tape will be EJECTED! and we will watch a new movie personally picked by the Video Wizard from his private collection!

Q: I heard there is a tape swap?
A: There is a VHS Tape swap before the event in the lobby starting at 6pm. Buy or trade an old VHS, set up your own booth or just take a looksie, as we’ll have some rare video cassettes on display in the Pickford lobby.

This is an optional portion of the event (but we hope you check it out!) Think of it more as an addition to the Bellingham Art Walk festivities. You will not miss any of the show if you don’t attend the Tape Swap.

Q. How does the Tape Swap work?
A: V.H.S. and PFC is taking a very hands-off approach to the swap. Keeping track of your videos, setting up and taking down, and conducting swaps is entirely your own responsibility!

The Golden Rule is please do not disturb the Pickford patrons. There are other movies showing and other customers who will be using the lobby. If you want future swaps to be held here, be good children.

Q: I want to set up a space to swap my movies! Do I need to RSVP?
A: Nope. Finding space is a first come first served basis. There are two large tables and about 6 smaller tables to use (about the size of a school desk). Heck, Sean was just going to find a space on the carpet to hawk his wares! If you have a table you want to bring we ain’t stopping you as long as you follow that golden rule!

Please do not set up before 6pm and your videos are your own responsibility, especially once the event starts at 9. Please have everything cleared and back to its original location before 10:30
